Dave & Virginia Simi with Elvis

Floral Supply Center owners, David and Virginia Simi, know a thing or two about love and family. After he returned from serving in the US Army in Okinawa, these high school sweethearts eloped to Reno. While Virginia stayed home to care for their two children, Regina and Patrick, David owned a gas station and garage before joining his father in the produce business.

The oldest of seven children and mother to two, Virginia’s Associate Degree in Recreation Management came in handy as she was the creative force in planning the best birthday and church parties.  As their two kids got older, Virginia went to work for a CPA firm while David remained in business with his father. When the family decided to sell the company, David and Virginia decided it was time for a change.

In 1984, David’s cousin, Ron Simi (of Simi’s Floral Supply Center in Modesto, California), approached David and Virginia with his idea of opening a second store in Reno/Sparks, Nevada. They formed a partnership, sending the family to their new home in Nevada.

In August of 1985, the Simis opened the Floral Supply Center in Sparks. Over the years, Regina and her husband, Patrick and his wife, and even David and Virginia’s grandchildren have worked at what the family lovingly calls “The Shop.”

Though the years have passed quickly and the locations have changed, David and Virginia always put their heart and soul into the Floral Supply Center.  Their 30 years of knowledge, experience, and personalized customer service is unmatched, and their passion always makes your event exactly what you want it to be.
